Toothless wonders
On Jan 11th, Jayna lost her first tooth and following in her brother's footsteps the next day she lost her second!
Anthony also lost his 3rd on Jan 11th. They follow in a similar tooth loosin pattern. Tony a tad behnd. He lost his first two teeth one day apart right after turning five. Jayna still has 3 months until she will be 5, April 20th.

Snow sucks
I used to like snow.... waaaay back in the day like 3rd grade when it got me out of having to go to Awana, and dad would jump off the roof with us and help us create igloos and we could come inside to mom's homemade soup on the woodburner and hot chocolate....
But now snow means I get stranded at work, I can't see the kids for days, and trying to transform my restaurant into my sleeping quarters as well as being insanely short handed. After Dec's BIG snow I bought a cot just prior to Jan/Feb storms. It worked out perfectly!
The kids did get to enjoy the snow, staying at Poppy and Grandma's. I picked them up 2 days later when I finally go to leave BK. We played in the snow a bit ourselves! Poppy tok them sledding so throw snow balls and climbing trees with me really didn't compare but we had fun anyways!
Since it was so cold it gave Tony lots of time to practice Wii bowling and my little booger is super proud of his "PRO" STATUS AND ALWAYS BEATING MOMMY!

Walking with the Dinosaurs
Tony loves 3 things, video games, Tigers and Dinosaurs. The production walking with the dinosaurs came to the next city over (hour away) so we Marko and Ant went to see those (overpriced) Dinos. The both seemed to really enjoy it! Unfortunately I enjoyed a great case of food poisoning thanks to TGIFriday's (so never eating there ever again!) but Jayna enjoyed her time with Grandma Pam!

January- Started following a hair blog and having simple fun w/ J's hair, caught a Bank Robber (no joke!)

May- Our first real vacation... and first visit to Disney in Orlando, Florida
June- Anthony and Jayna finished preschool, started MS150 training, took it easy

August- Quick trip to WV to see Zac's new house and visit great grandparents, Jayna and Anthony started elementary school at Sheffield Elementary as Kindergarten-er (A) and Pre-kers (J)

Decade in a review
Kind of funny weird to look back and remember as 1999 came to a close the huge Y2K scare of ossibly no electricity, no food, people were stock piling and lots were curious and worrying. Now we are 10 years later and so much has happened s much has changed. Ever emotion has been felt, some I never would have dreampt. It's been a crazy ride, and as I look back here is a review in the brief... as brief as a girl who loves to write can do!
Background info
In 1999 we moved to VA, I Started attending a private school and even made some good friends. I turned 15 with a suprise birthday party that I was not pleased about. The best thing was becoming an Aunt to Hunter William-George Kennedy on 12/30/99 right before the new year to avoid any possible Y2K glitches!!
2000
I quickly became a loner. All those friends I thought I had turned on me or so that is how I felt. I was crushed. I was ecstatic to meet baby Hunter in March 00'. On April 19, 2000 I started working for McDonald's on Old Forest Rd. I love it! I was awarded employee of the month June 2000 after only 6 weeks of employment. I knew this is what I wanted to do with my life. Restaurant work, fast food, customer service and a fast pace. My teaching desires were no more. Management change in late July 00 and the job went down hill. I started 10th grade. I was miserable. I quit McDonald's and started Dairy Queen. Again I loved it! I had lost all friends at school but quickly made friends at work; Zenaida and Tina especially. I was hit by a car and then called into work. It got me a management promotion! Loved DQ til the last week in where a less mature manager had trouble with a conflict so I quit and started at Pizza Hut as a quiet loner.
2001
My sister got married to Justin and learned she was preggo with baby #2 After a counselor my parents forced me to go to convinced my parents that the horrific school they forced me to attend was destroying me, I was allowed to attend the local public highschool starting in 11th grade. I started to slowly make a few friends at work. But being overly cautious It was not a real friendship yet, just casually at work. Sadly the week of my 16th birthday my Grandma died. We buried her in PA on my birthday. The only good point was seeing my baby Hunter. I went to PA for my 2nd nephews birth to babysit my sweet Hunter for a whole week. Parker Robert-Edward was born on Halloween 2001! I made one friend at school, Marko in Mr. Anthony Cardoza's Computer Application's class. It took me three months to say more than hi to him, but thanks to his persistance he won me over as a friend!
2002
I was good friends with Brandy from work. I finished 11th grade. Marko and I hung out that summer as friends. It felt great to have a friend! Moved to PA but didn't get along with my host family so after just two weeks I left. Marko wrote me frequently and even asked me to be his girlfriend while I was in PA. I came back to VA and IMMEDIATELY fate would have it saw Marko in the guidance office as I was enrolling back into school in VA! My friend at work learned she was unexpectedly preggo. I turned 18 in Oct and had troubles with my parents. Spent lots of nights, even months living in my car. Occassionally I'd sleep in Marko's living room sitting up in the love seat with Marko on super cold nights. It only brought us closer. I attended EACH of Brandy's dr appts. We became very best friends, more like sisters. At long last I had my first real and best friend since elementary school in PA!
2003
I was still living in my car a good bit. I skipped lots of school. I enjoyed Brandy's pregnancy. I wished I could be preggo with her so I lived through her. Marko and I became serious in April. My Godson Christian Blake Clark was born on May 28th, 2003, a month early. My precious lil angel. He was so completely loved. I became preggo in June. I graduated highschool. I moved to a trailer I bought in PA in July. WORST day of my life, July 25, 2003. My godson dies of SIDS. I leave PA and never return except to get my belongings. August Marko and I get an apartment and get hired as a manager at Burger King, quickly promoted to Ast Manager. Dec 14 we get married.
2004
Feb 13 we buy a house
Feb 29 my son Anthony Robert Sykes is born at 5am weighing 8lbs 5oz
Enjoyed 8 wks of maternity leave, loving being a mom
We start trying to conceive and a 6 weeks later we are.
Brandy and Robbie live with us for almost a year
Derek gets out of juvie, and lives with us
2005

April 20, 2005 my daughter Jayna Olivia Sykes is born at 7am weighing 7lbs 10oz.
that same week My Aunt Marilyn died of a heart attack completely unexpectedly.
It was a long hard second half a year financially. After 4 weeks of maternity leave I came back to BK with a promotion to Restaurant General Manager.

Hubs gets a vasectomy, replace a transmission in the neon.
Becomes jobless, finds a good temp job then a way underpaid job but one he like as it was with computers.

Ray lives with us for one week before getting locked up again

Financially finally things are pretty good
One of our siblings steals some money from us.

SEPTEMBER
Uncle Derek (aka Uncle D) met/was reunited with us after a 4year vacation... for lack of any happier phrasing for it! He moved in with us. I had my yearly 150mile Bike ride. Went to the Pod party, Ant had soccer, both kids were in full time public school... Jayna liking it much more than Anthony.
My biggie bro gor engaged at the end of September to whom my kidlets proudly call "Aunt Rebekah"... AUNT like the bug unlike her preferred "ont"... doubt you'll convince the muskrats to switch to Ont but you can try!
OCTOBER
Had a birthday in October and turned a quarter.
Skipped Bridge Day sadly, but traded it for Halloween weekend off--- first ever! Volunteered at the kids school for the Halloween dance and was less than impressed... but the kids had so much fun~ Afterwards we went to Poppy and Grandma's. I went to a Michael W. Smith concert with dad and Cousin Trish who came in for it!
Halloween we had a proffessional photo shoot and went Trick or Treating with our normal gang. then I went to mom and dad's to visit with cousin Trish before she had to leave.
NOVEMBER
November was nothing special... for the most part as I remember it! Kids had a school fundraiser that THOROUGHLY pissed me off so NO MORE volunteering and fundraisers for me! Went to WV for Thanksgiving. Had Nana's super amazing veggie soup. That soup is nothing short of heavenly! We had a great time with family even meeting our cousins Cooper (3.5), Layne (6mos?) and Ryan (2mos?). We got some great and fun Black Friday deals at Walmart which has become Marko and my new tadition! I took the kids bowling Friday night and we headed home Sat as I had work!
big news we bought 4 pieces of comfy living room furniture!!
DECEMBER
Helped throw Wendy a baby shower, Went to Tabi's 5th birthday party at Amazement Square, celebrated our 6th wedding anniversary, had waaaay too much horrific snow forcing me for the first time ever to not open my store... got chewed out by the DM. Slept at work once I got there the day after the big snow as I had no transportation in the 16 horrible inches of cold wet heavy junk. Had Christmas with the gang at Famous Anthony's. Had Christmas Eve at mom's with the fam, even Marko's Momma came! AND THE BG NEWS DESERVES IT'S OWN BLOG... But since I doubt my ability not to procrastinate... As we do every other year, we hosted Christmas at our house. Sadly Aunt Carolyn is in the hospital. Therefore, is was just Momma and of course D who lives with us. But then I invited my family. So get this... I cleaned the kitchen and the living room (sorry never finished... ok barely started laundry) and didn't touch the bathroom... ) I stayed up until 4am Christmas Eve cooking the desserts; chocolate cake, blueberry muffins, strawberry cheesecake, peach pie and cherry turnovers and put the ham in the oven. Woke up at 8am and continued the cooking spree, greenbeens in the crock pot with Nana's secret seasoning tips, sweet potato casserole, cheesy scalloped potatoes, corn bread- Momma made potato salad, pepperoni rolls and turkey, i also made pigs in a blanket, stuffing, hmmm I seem to think there was more but can't remember now!? We all ate, the kids, mom, momma, dad, zac, karlee, joe mark, marko, d... all in one house and getting along. We all watched blindside and relaxed!

Podderific Weekend
I know this is out of order but I am trying to catch up on my blog and update it better... but there are no guarantees!
September 5th was Anthony's first soccer practice and game. He had to be there at 8:45am *yawn*.
Immediately after soccer, we packed up the van and headed to Pennsylvania- just beyond Gettysburg!
I have been part of an online parenting community since I was 15-10 years ago! Then I was known as "Aunt Beth" now 10 years later I am known as "BK_BETH". We had our first even meet up as a large group. Several of the people had met a fam or two before. But in August 09 we started a new group "The Parenting Pod" and in celebration of the Pod's 1st Birthday we had a meet up at one of the Admin's homes! It was fantabulous! Exciting beyond words for me and a long time in the making! My WONDERFUL hubby came too which made it even better! Our longest distance traveled was Tink came nearing 1000 miles from WI and then Nell came from NY. It was just awesome!
We were suppose to meet Zac's girl friend Rebekah in Lynchburg but he called on our way home to ask if we could meet them half way, so we stayed at a hotel near Christiansburg, VA and got to meet Zac and Rebekah at the Olive Garden! Then we hit up the mall. Unfortunately after so much running this weekend the munchkins were as lovely as usual!
After we told Uncle Zac and Rebekah good bye we went to see Marko's family! We hadn't seen Uncle Bernard and Aunt Helen since Anthony was a month old! They had never met Jayna:-0 and she's inching towards 5 years old!! We also saw Momma, Aunt Carolyn and Aunt Dee! It was just a fabulous weekend!! It'll be hard to compare again until at least Thanksgiving:-)
