So on our Disney vacation Jayna managed to need stitches... She was jumping in the hotel pool my bro would catch her and repeat... so he turned to talk to me or something and she jumped. They banged heads. Jayna's started gushing blood. her light pink dora suit quickly changed colors! My big bad army bro freaked out (haha) and J handled it all quite well! The hotel dr bandaged J and they gave us directions to an after care pediatrics place! She never cried the whole time... minus immediately when the blood was pouring! She now has 7 stitches and a cute multi colored eye!

My brother makes me SICK
YUP! You got it Ladies and Gentlemen... yet another venting blog of complaints!
So my brother broke down his car- TOTALED it by driving it without ANY oil for who knows how long, who knows how far... has to suck since he hasn't even had the car a year and prob put $3000 into it... oh well, lessons learned right? That was last Friday hubs had to go save him an hour from home broke down on the side of the road and it literally took up the whole evening!
So his prom is this weekend and he wants to use MY car. MY PAID OFF ok-decent car... did I mention PAID OFF and still in good working condition. What about my lil not all that responsible brother wanting to borrow my car on PROM NIGHT make me head ring of sirens and flashing lights and warning flags? So my immediate answer no way on earth! Then my secondary answer with a $500 deposit that he would get ALL back after my cars safe return (to cover my insurance sdeductible when he screws up royally)... do you get the picture I am really not comfortable with this plan AT ALL! Anyhow after MUCH co-orsing and hubs being a softy, and attatching a GPS to my car so we could watch EXACTLY where he is and confirming EVERYTHING with my parents even forcing check in phone calls we agree. I worked Friday 12-8, Marko took me to work and sometime that afternoon gave MY keys over to Joe to use the car for the night... That was where MARKO MESSED UP! He didn't just give lil bro my car key he gives him my WHOLE SERT of keys. After I get off Friday I pretty much go straight to bed as I have to be at work at 5am Saturday. So comes morning... Marko is still up on the computer. Tony had just went to bed at 3am, one hour earlier... in attempts to allow Marko to sleep in as well. Jayna went to bed around midnight. As I prepare to leave I frantically realize my keys are NOT where I left them! And ask Marko top which he replied he gave them to Joe... cut to the chase... lil bro's phone is off; have to wake both kids get in the van and follow the GPS to where our car is. In the process call mom who finds the phone number of this house. We call the house talk to Joe ask him WHERE ARE MY KEYS as I have to open my store in 15 minutes. We are.23 miles from the car when he says I left them at home and SPECIFICALLY csays they are on a certain shelf at moms... like he KNEW that is where they are... although he claimed to have looked in the car while on the phone with me... and THEN magically remembered EXACTLY where he left them at mom's. So we turn around to go to mom's... it is now 5 or so til 5... I am suppose to open my store at 5. We get to dad's a lil after 5.. we search the hopuse til 5:15 when we call him back at the place... MARKO talked to him this time. He specificallt told him to check in the doors and the middle console as that is where Marko had told him to put my keys so they wouldn't get lost. Joe however was certain he left them at mom's. Marko told him to meet us at Burger King. I tried calling all my manager's to borrow keys to the store- with no luck! Luckily Marko was thinking and we drove to wehere my one manager lives... I had to wake her (I felt sooooooo BAD ABOUT THAT!) BUT i GOT KEYS. weE DROVE TO bk AND i GOT THERE AT 5:33AM. lUCKILY MY OTHER TWO OPENERS WERE KIND AND WAITED AROUND FOR ME!! I got my babies a drink at BK and Joe pulls up with my car. Marko goes to it and opens the door and SUPRISE my keys are RIGHT THEREso it is OBVIOUS Joe never looked. I WAS TICKED!! lUCKILY THANKS TO SOME HARD FAST QUICK WORK WE OPENED THE STORE RIGHT AT 6AM!! But we WERE WAY BEHIND IN OUR PREP DUTIES AND WE STRUGGLED FOR THAT AS WE ALSO HAD TWO CALL INS! My poor kids got like NO sleep and Tony was sleeping when I got off work at 4pm. Jay got up at 3! They wouldn't go to sleep for Marko for a while when they got back home as they were at that point awake in the car 1.5 hours! Moral of the story...Never let ANYONE borrow your car or else you'll pay for it in the long run... not to mention he never refilled the gas he used!

A VERY Sad Eye-Opening 1st
One of my sweet night shift boys' dad died last week. He was quite yound at just 46. It was just heart crushing when my employee alerted me it was due to suicide. Cut to the chase. I attended his funeral in an effort to support my employee on Sunday April 26th at New MOunt Baptist Church in Arlington, Va. It was uniquely odd to be the only white person not in the choir. There were 2 or 3 white people in the choir. It was an exceptionally well performed funeral service although heart wrenchingly sad. I had never been to the funeral of a suicide victim. In fact I had only ever been to one other funeral where a very young parent died to a chiild (under 18) person. The other funeral was very expected after a lengthy and difficult battle with cancer a friend in PA's mom fought for years and died when she was about 40 and the friend about 13. This of course is very different with litterally no warning to an impending death. I guess it made it all that more sad and difficult to face. They had a small choir singing and it was a beatiful God glorifying service. My heart just broke for the family during one particularly amazing song that was when you've done all you can and all you have left in you you just stand.... i had never heard the song before. It was sung amazingly and the family was obviously moved... I will look for the exact lyrics (pending song) I have frequently wondered the biblical stance on suicide... all my questions were put to rest and I now have a peace and understanding on the topic. If you are a believer and have accepted Jesus Christ as your Saviour you will be Saved. I always agreed and believed that. However many a timmes non-believers or even debaters like to ask those what iff your last moments were in sin... then are you still going to Heaven?? This Pastor, James Coleman was very straight forward and clear. YOu don't need to ask forgiveness for each sin, who can even remember each sin? So as long as you were a believer you are saved. I was impressed by his explanation and it made complete sence! Minus the very hot temps this was probably the best although most awkward funeral I have attended... not that I am hoping to attend anymore funerals any time soon to compare you know. I didn't know his dad personally other than when he'd pick up my employee from work and occassionally order a whopper jr. no pickles... but I believe he would have been pleased and impressed by how well this sad event went off.
In addition in the little memory paper you get at funerals, there were submissions by his siblings, daughter and wife. You could tell in the writing how much grief and heart break they were exprencing due to his death and how they wish he would have sought help or let them know something was very wrong, but the most important message they loved him, he was loved, and they know he loved them as well. The wife wrote that although this was not the way they had dreampt of it ending she still loved hi and was at the last day(s) was his wife. As I do not have permission I won't mention names or specifically quoted things but It was impressive. I had never been to an African American funeral and it was a new experience, eye opening, and as upbeat as a funeral can be.
My prayers and thoughts continue to be with this sweet employee and his faily. I truly care about my employees and their struggles. I am really sorry not just ya know "it's nice to send flowers sorry". And I feel this ache for every family in my Bk store who has lost someone very close... and I have attended the funerals as much as possible.

Toys-R-Us Complaint...
I am currently boycotting toys r us... here is my letter to the company:
ANTI toys r us formal complaint
I visited your Lynchburg, Va Toys R Us location after my daughter received a $3 gift card for her birthday from the birthday club. Later, at home I realived I had been over charged on my daughters order. She had chose a a 5.99 stuffed cat and 2 water toys for 1.28. However her two toys for 1.28 rand up for 5.98. Since we used her gift card it took $1 off of each of the three items we purchased. So when I went to get my refund of the price difference the refunded 4.98 for each bath toy and rerung it up for the original 1.28 price. So this means you all merely sent her a ONE dollar gift card. I made a second purchase and pointed this out to the manager. I pointed out it was not our fault we were over charged. I was not trying to return anything or "rip you off" But I find it HIGHLY disappointing the reason I brought my kids here to spend their money instead of another toy store (hunt WALMART) was the gift card but I would NOT have chosen here over walmart to mearly save a buck... it was the three dollar deal that here gift card covered over a 1/3 of her purchase. Since they would not transfer my $2savings to my purchase today I took my son with his tooth fairy money to walmart instead. I am very disappointed when it was your stores error to over change me and then they basically keep $2 of our money. I will not return to a company who finds it ok to over charge their customers and then wrong them by not offering them all their money back either on a gift card or cash. I will proceed this weekend to return her birthday gifts I bought from Toys R Us earlier this month as I do not want my money to be given to a store that is ok with cheap skating it's customers. I can go to walmart or target and get her something equally nice and a similar price any where else that sells toys.

The Long Lost Blogger Has Returned!!

So the last time I blogged was for Anthony's birthday. I sincerely apologize I have been a slacker but you can thank me later for saving you from the boredom for nearly 2 months as well as having to hear about Disney 875,578,267,259 times.
MARCH 2009:
SNOW DAY
Anthony's party as you know was Feb 28th. Then Sunday March 1 it started to snow... and I mean REALLY snow. I ran and got some grocceries because in the 10 years I have been in VA this is probably all the snows combined. So Jas one of my mgrs at work called and said there was no way she'd be able to open. Being she lives like an hour away, I agreed and I would open. I set my alarm very early so I would be able to shovel if needed and drive slow. YEAH RIGHT... I tried to get to work but that was a complete JOKE! Sure this snow is nothing like an area that regularly gets snow, but for us it was a mountain of white stuff... all 11-12 inches of it! Fibally at 10am I started riding my bike to work. I have been working at restaurants for 9 years and NEVER once called in and the weather DEF never edffected my timelyness or schedule... sure my dm has had us close early a few times due to weather-- mostly b/c of lack of customers! So it's official 1st time EVER I was forced to open late... and it was only Gar and I and we opened just before 12. And we got our booties kicked badly! Gar was stuck with all kitchen duties and I was stuck with all customer relations... it was horrific, but we did our best! We even had some compliments and mostly nice and understanding customers which was a relief especially after a rude irrate let me cuss you out customer!

TEAMS
At work, we all picked teams and created team posters-- like ya know a banner or mascot. I think it really started some bonding for those who really do care about their job. I was very impressed with all the work and effort each of my managers and their teams put into this ongoing project
I THINK I DIED
I managed to start getting sick on Friday March 6. By the 10th I was rather dreadful. I had a manager's meeting with my DM and his store managers. I was already useless and super sick. I couldn't even run my shift. Thank goodness for Robbie. He ran my shift until Gary could get there after classes while I slept in my car. I was completely miserable. Marko convinced me to go to the doctor that next day, Wednesday. It was confirmed I had a bad case of the Flu and Strep and was VERY sick! I was nicely drugged with some cough syrup, zantac, aleeve, and something else i was prescribed. And for the first time in my 9 year career I was FORCED to call in to work I felt sooooo bad doing it! I called out Thursday and Friday. I tried to get ready for work Saturday biut couldn't stand more than 10 minutes. Tried to get a shower and just collapsed so was forced to call in a third day! I was off Sunday but returned to work mONDAY... UNFORTUNATELY i REMAINED SICK FOR 23 LONG DAYS... I was mostly useless that whole week and slowly regained strength. It seems this year is full of bad firsts with work... first snow day and fist call in ever! However I did manage to make Mateo a 1st Birthday cake... it only took me FOUR seperate attempts to finish it since I was unable to sit up long enough to finish in one sitting. Big huge thanks to my mgrs and Robbie for handling my buisness at work when I was unable!
23 YEARS OLD!
Marko turned 23 on March 24! Unfortunately we both had to work. He was in NC and didn't even make it home until SUPER LATE! Unfortunately that day marked the end of his contract project. He finished all his stores and is now job hunting~ugh~ but it will all work out in the end!
CAR WORK
Marko changed the van breaks but why listen to your non car working wife? He refused to put on the emergency break. As he was changing the 2nd front break the car began to roll. It LITERALLY was 1 milimeter away from hitting the next door neighbors car and fence! And in the process knocked me over. Luckily dh can move FAST when needed. He managed to get into the van and stop the car from moving.... talk about freaked out! Meaningless to say I sat in the van WITH the emergency break on while he finished the breaks!
EASTER BUNNY
I took the kids to see the Eater Bunny. It was the first Bunny/Santa pic where they 1. weren't freaking out and 2. neither me nor one of my brothers had to be in the pic to keep them calmed down!
BIKES
Daddy put together Anthony's bike and tightened up Jayna's training wheels. The kids got to ride their bikes and Anthony even got the brakes and pedaling concept!
APRIL 2009:
GARBEAR
My assistant manager at work, Gary celebrated his birthday on April 4th. I made him a Dragon cake as he loves dragons! We celebrated his bday at work on the 3rd since I try to give him Saturdays off.
PROM
My two JF promers came by all decked out. They looked AMAZING! Their friends/dates looked great too, but Matt and Marquis were just exceptional!
FUNQUEST
Anthony was invited to his friend Kassidy's party at FunQuest on the 5th. The kids had a blast skating and playing in the playquest area, games, eating pizza too. Kassidy had a My Little Pony cake which ionspired my next cake decorating task! Then we played Laser Tag which Jayna accidentally cheated by crossing lines... she was only trying to get the bad guys- hahah! It was a fun day!
EASTER WEEKEND
Easter weekend was VERY busy... Jayna and I started it by summer clothes shopping! And should I mention we were quite pleased with our finds:-) We went to Angela's birthday party at K on Timberlake where we got to clean the store... is there something wrong with that picture? I thought that was 1/2 the reason to have a party AWAY from home, to AVOID cleaning... GRRR but fear not the management all had time for smoke breaks They should consider themselves LUCKY it was not my party! However all in all it was a great party! All the people important in Ang's life attended... foster families, bio families, cousins even friends from school! It was a great get together! Unfortunately I think I was overly excited about Eater and my kids couldn't have cared less! Neither cared about easter baskets and just wanted more sleep! However eventually i got them awake enough to get dressed for church and with the program. Church was pretty good! We had NewSong there as well as professional paiter Brian Keith Daniel which was very cool! We did an egg hunt. Jayna especially loved it so we hid her eggs 3 additional times. Tony liked it well enough but once was enough for him! Jayna managed to get an MM stuck up her nose... and it was a red one so it looked like she had a nose bleed hahah! After nap it was time for Alexis' 2nd Birthday. I made her cake My Little Pony. It didn't quite turn out as ell as I had hoped, but not bad either! We dyed eggs and hid them for the kids! I hid the eggs while Wendy and Karen hid candy. Then we hid a "prize" plastic egg with A dollar bill in it! Anthony found the prize egg! It was a fun time. Once home both kids just collapsed... Jayna made it into a bed by getting caried where as Tony fell asleep in the doorway of the bedroom! It was cute!
TEETH
I was at work and Marko called to say "You know Tony's teeth are gunna fall out" I wa thinking I know I don't brush his teeth that bad! It didn't click... he is barely 5! It is that time he lost his first tooth April 13th and 2nd tooth April 14th! He was sad when he couldn't find his tooth in the morning but thilled when he realized he had money but he had knocked it off the bed in his sleep! He was very proud of his lost teeth!
JAYNA IS 4!
Sunday we spent our day making cupcakes for school. We formed a princess crown for Jayna! Jayna and I decided to go for a photo shoot. Yes we are odd balls so it prob seemed odd to go for a photo shot in a cementary but they had GREAT scenary! Jayna had a blast!... pictures for this are pending but will be posted soon!
She had her birthday party at school! She had a blast being Proncess for a day! Not to mention she sucked up all the attention she could After school and nap I took her to the mall at her request. It was fun window shopping together! Oh yeah I let her open one gift of a pretty sleeping Beauty dress in which she was excited to get a gift but then promptly asked... "WHERE'S THE SHOES!?" and refused to wear it w/o new shoes!
PARTY
We had Jayna's birthday party Sat the 25th at Famous Anthony's! Unfortunately the payed NO attention to our reservations and were unorganized and rude at first but ah-well! Brandy, Robbie, Ang and Shania, Wendy, Patrick, Tabi and Tao, Zac, Karlee, Mark, mom and Dad, and then Aunt D, Aunt Carolyn, and Grandma DeMoss attended in addition to Marko, Anthony and I. It was a nice lil get together! Jayna went home with mom and dad while Ant, Marko and I stayed in the parking lot chatting w/ his mom and aunts!

So the last time I blogged was for Anthony's birthday. I sincerely apologize I have been a slacker but you can thank me later for saving you from the boredom for nearly 2 months as well as having to hear about Disney 875,578,267,259 times.
MARCH 2009:
SNOW DAY
Anthony's party as you know was Feb 28th. Then Sunday March 1 it started to snow... and I mean REALLY snow. I ran and got some grocceries because in the 10 years I have been in VA this is probably all the snows combined. So Jas one of my mgrs at work called and said there was no way she'd be able to open. Being she lives like an hour away, I agreed and I would open. I set my alarm very early so I would be able to shovel if needed and drive slow. YEAH RIGHT... I tried to get to work but that was a complete JOKE! Sure this snow is nothing like an area that regularly gets snow, but for us it was a mountain of white stuff... all 11-12 inches of it! Fibally at 10am I started riding my bike to work. I have been working at restaurants for 9 years and NEVER once called in and the weather DEF never edffected my timelyness or schedule... sure my dm has had us close early a few times due to weather-- mostly b/c of lack of customers! So it's official 1st time EVER I was forced to open late... and it was only Gar and I and we opened just before 12. And we got our booties kicked badly! Gar was stuck with all kitchen duties and I was stuck with all customer relations... it was horrific, but we did our best! We even had some compliments and mostly nice and understanding customers which was a relief especially after a rude irrate let me cuss you out customer!

We got some Valentine's/Anthony's 5 pictures on March 4th. they are under March 09 Pics. They turned out pretty good too!
TEAMS
At work, we all picked teams and created team posters-- like ya know a banner or mascot. I think it really started some bonding for those who really do care about their job. I was very impressed with all the work and effort each of my managers and their teams put into this ongoing project
I THINK I DIED
I managed to start getting sick on Friday March 6. By the 10th I was rather dreadful. I had a manager's meeting with my DM and his store managers. I was already useless and super sick. I couldn't even run my shift. Thank goodness for Robbie. He ran my shift until Gary could get there after classes while I slept in my car. I was completely miserable. Marko convinced me to go to the doctor that next day, Wednesday. It was confirmed I had a bad case of the Flu and Strep and was VERY sick! I was nicely drugged with some cough syrup, zantac, aleeve, and something else i was prescribed. And for the first time in my 9 year career I was FORCED to call in to work I felt sooooo bad doing it! I called out Thursday and Friday. I tried to get ready for work Saturday biut couldn't stand more than 10 minutes. Tried to get a shower and just collapsed so was forced to call in a third day! I was off Sunday but returned to work mONDAY... UNFORTUNATELY i REMAINED SICK FOR 23 LONG DAYS... I was mostly useless that whole week and slowly regained strength. It seems this year is full of bad firsts with work... first snow day and fist call in ever! However I did manage to make Mateo a 1st Birthday cake... it only took me FOUR seperate attempts to finish it since I was unable to sit up long enough to finish in one sitting. Big huge thanks to my mgrs and Robbie for handling my buisness at work when I was unable!
23 YEARS OLD!
Marko turned 23 on March 24! Unfortunately we both had to work. He was in NC and didn't even make it home until SUPER LATE! Unfortunately that day marked the end of his contract project. He finished all his stores and is now job hunting~ugh~ but it will all work out in the end!
CAR WORK
Marko changed the van breaks but why listen to your non car working wife? He refused to put on the emergency break. As he was changing the 2nd front break the car began to roll. It LITERALLY was 1 milimeter away from hitting the next door neighbors car and fence! And in the process knocked me over. Luckily dh can move FAST when needed. He managed to get into the van and stop the car from moving.... talk about freaked out! Meaningless to say I sat in the van WITH the emergency break on while he finished the breaks!
EASTER BUNNY
I took the kids to see the Eater Bunny. It was the first Bunny/Santa pic where they 1. weren't freaking out and 2. neither me nor one of my brothers had to be in the pic to keep them calmed down!
BIKES
Daddy put together Anthony's bike and tightened up Jayna's training wheels. The kids got to ride their bikes and Anthony even got the brakes and pedaling concept!
APRIL 2009:
GARBEAR
My assistant manager at work, Gary celebrated his birthday on April 4th. I made him a Dragon cake as he loves dragons! We celebrated his bday at work on the 3rd since I try to give him Saturdays off.
PROM
My two JF promers came by all decked out. They looked AMAZING! Their friends/dates looked great too, but Matt and Marquis were just exceptional!
FUNQUEST
Anthony was invited to his friend Kassidy's party at FunQuest on the 5th. The kids had a blast skating and playing in the playquest area, games, eating pizza too. Kassidy had a My Little Pony cake which ionspired my next cake decorating task! Then we played Laser Tag which Jayna accidentally cheated by crossing lines... she was only trying to get the bad guys- hahah! It was a fun day!
EASTER WEEKEND
Easter weekend was VERY busy... Jayna and I started it by summer clothes shopping! And should I mention we were quite pleased with our finds:-) We went to Angela's birthday party at K on Timberlake where we got to clean the store... is there something wrong with that picture? I thought that was 1/2 the reason to have a party AWAY from home, to AVOID cleaning... GRRR but fear not the management all had time for smoke breaks They should consider themselves LUCKY it was not my party! However all in all it was a great party! All the people important in Ang's life attended... foster families, bio families, cousins even friends from school! It was a great get together! Unfortunately I think I was overly excited about Eater and my kids couldn't have cared less! Neither cared about easter baskets and just wanted more sleep! However eventually i got them awake enough to get dressed for church and with the program. Church was pretty good! We had NewSong there as well as professional paiter Brian Keith Daniel which was very cool! We did an egg hunt. Jayna especially loved it so we hid her eggs 3 additional times. Tony liked it well enough but once was enough for him! Jayna managed to get an MM stuck up her nose... and it was a red one so it looked like she had a nose bleed hahah! After nap it was time for Alexis' 2nd Birthday. I made her cake My Little Pony. It didn't quite turn out as ell as I had hoped, but not bad either! We dyed eggs and hid them for the kids! I hid the eggs while Wendy and Karen hid candy. Then we hid a "prize" plastic egg with A dollar bill in it! Anthony found the prize egg! It was a fun time. Once home both kids just collapsed... Jayna made it into a bed by getting caried where as Tony fell asleep in the doorway of the bedroom! It was cute!
TEETH
I was at work and Marko called to say "You know Tony's teeth are gunna fall out" I wa thinking I know I don't brush his teeth that bad! It didn't click... he is barely 5! It is that time he lost his first tooth April 13th and 2nd tooth April 14th! He was sad when he couldn't find his tooth in the morning but thilled when he realized he had money but he had knocked it off the bed in his sleep! He was very proud of his lost teeth!
JAYNA IS 4!
Sunday we spent our day making cupcakes for school. We formed a princess crown for Jayna! Jayna and I decided to go for a photo shoot. Gifts
Ant hit the jackpot with gifts. He got a bike, some clothes, lots of dinos, a suit case full of Disney gear, a dart board, a scooter, a camera desk, and a batman gun. Not to mention $25 from his Great-Grandparents which we are saving for Disney!

Anthony's Birthday Games
I created a "Pin the spiderman in the middle of the Web" type game... a steal off of the Pin the tale on the Donkey.
I also bought a superbowl way clearance footballish game.
Then I had another major clearance of sports artsy projects. It kept all the kids entertained for a while!
